Psalm 28: 1-3, 6-9

1  To you, LORD, I call; you: are my Rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you remain silent, I will be like those who go down to the pit.

2  Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.

3  Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil, who speak cordially with their neighbors but harbor malice in their hearts.

6  Praise be to the LORD, for he has heard my cry for mercy.

7  The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.

8  The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.

9  Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever.

Prayer

Father in Heave, God, You made the world and everything in it, are Lord of heaven and earth. We bow down to praise You before we spread the wings of the dawn. You are our strength and our shield, our hearts trust in You. Your mighty hand will guide and support us and we will shout and praise Your holy name. Forgive us for our ignorance that we acclimated to being preyed upon by bitterness and listened to gossip for too long. You rescue us from evil and place us high on the rock of peace. When we have not yet calmed down our breathing, we have begun to complain why the rock is silent and why no water is gushing out from the rock when struck. Forgive us for our ungratefulness and our rude remarks.

Lord Jesus, may you grant us patience that we will not be quarrelsome when verbally abused but kind to everyone. Let us rise unsoiled from the murky mud of this world. The Lord did not gather the weeds now so that the wheat would not be uprooted with them; let both grow together until the harvest. By faith, we put our lives in Your hand and rest securely in your bosom. We set our sail against the strong wind of the pandemic, and with the word of God we nourish and grow our spiritual lives. Thank you for the blessing of manna each morning.

Holy Spirit, full of life, come and shepherd our hearts. Give us guidance on using prayer as needle and God’s word as thread to embroider a picture of beautiful life and to mend the torn garment of failure. Let us show the unique and perfect masterpiece that God has created in our lives. By faith walk the road to victory with us and live a life that glorifies God and blesses others.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
