Psalm 144: 1-4, 12-15

1  Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.

2  He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples [a]  under me.

3  LORD, what are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you think of them?

4  They are like a breath; their days are like a fleeting shadow.

12  Then our sons in their youth will be like well-nurtured plants, and our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace.

13  Our barns will be filled with every kind of provision. Our sheep will increase by thousands, by tens of thousands in our fields;

14  our oxen will draw heavy loads. There will be no breaching of walls,  no going into captivity, no cry of distress in our streets.

15  Blessed is the people of whom this is true; blessed is the people whose God is the LORD.

Prayer

Almighty God, Heavenly Father, who is always victorious! We praise you for You are our defender and protector. You are our God; in you we trust. We have not emerged from the first wave of the pandemic and a second wave could happen before fall. You are our fortress, stronghold, deliverer, and shield. We can’t help but ask what are we human beings that you think about us. We are certain that your steadfast love will give us hope to see new growth with green shoots sprouting out from countries of the world, cities, societies, homes, and even our families and the next generation. We rejoice in this renewed hope that Jesus Christ bring.

Lord Jesus, You are the Lord and king who lead us to live a victorious life. When the day of evil comes, let us put on the full armor of God to resist negative energy of pride, arrogance, hatred, resentment, bitterness, and depression. Instead, use the positive energy of benevolence, peace, kindness, goodness, understanding, and acceptance to accomplish all the things that You moved us to do, to care for and help the disadvantaged communities, and serve faithfully in the position you assigned.

Holy Spirit, help us to ruminate the truth of the Bible with all wisdom.  let us be transformed inwardly by the renewing of our minds. Fill us with the spirit as the body without the spirit is dead. Don’t let us become people with just faith as faith that doesn't lead us to do good deeds is all alone and dead. Such Christian life does not glorify God. Holy Spirit please come! Lead us to use our time wisely today for we do not know what tomorrow holds. Send the Light!
