Psalm 145: 1-4, 8-9, 20-21

1  I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.

2  Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.

3  Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.

4  One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.

8  The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.

9  The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

20  The LORD watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.

21  My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD. Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever.

Prayer

Glorious Lord Jesus Christ, Majestic One, Our Heavenly Father,

We will exalt thee, extol thee, and praise thee for your mighty acts. We bow down and ask for forgiveness of our ignorance. We were like frogs in the well, cannot see the big picture because of being close-minded, and being boastful of self-proclaimed accolades and accomplishments. We failed to acknowledge the source of our blessings and neglected to profess the great things that You have done for us. We forget that the hand of the Lord is mighty enough for creation. God saw all that He had made and it was very good. And it was so. We are grateful that our Lord do not change; He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Lord Jesus, whom have we in heaven but you. Only Jesus has the power to save! His name is the only one in all the world that can save anyone. You uphold all who are falling and raise up all who are bowed down. We strive to fix what we bungled and mismanaged, the planet, the earth, the society, and even ourselves with no success. You come along and pick up the pieces, never stop smiling even when the debris cut your hand. You open the curtain and let in the bright sunlight. Softly You said “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

Thank you, Holy Spirit for reminding us not to be disturbed by the worldly things, lay our burdens at the feet of Christ because God is with us. May the spirit gather believers to join in a choir of a million people to be accompanied by an orchestra comprises thousands of musicians to sing our favorite song, “Hallelujah”. Let all nations sing praise to the Lord and to declare the great things He has done. Lord Jesus, make your light shine, so others will see the good you do and will praise your Father in heaven. Do not be too angry with us or hold our sins against us forever. We are your people; be merciful to us.
