Psalm 99: 1-2, 5, 8-9

1  The LORD reigns, let the nations tremble; he sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake.

2  Great is the LORD in Zion; he is exalted over all the nations.

5  Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy.

8  LORD our God, you answered them; you were to Israel a forgiving God, though you punished their misdeeds. [a]

9  Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his holy mountain, for the LORD our God is holy.

Prayer

Holy! Holy! Holy! is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come. You are an awesome God, holy and perfect Heavenly Father, most worthy of our praise. From the rising of the sun to its setting, let Your name be praised. For salvation is to be found through You alone; in all the world there is no one else whom God has given who can save us.

Jesus, Holy One of Israel, You suffered for you, leaving an example for us to follow in Your steps, You committed no sin, neither was deceit found in Your mouth. When You were insulted, You did not answer back with an insult; when You suffered, You did not threaten, but placed Your hopes in God, the righteous Judge. You valiantly walked to Golgotha Mountain to complete the Father’s gracious salvation plan. May You strengthen our hearts so we will be able to faithfully follow in Your footsteps and finish our life journeys on earth. Let us live a life of virtue, honor You in our thoughts and actions and bring glory to Your name.

Holy Spirit, give us strength and endurance, not to be frightened by the raging pandemic. Remind us to equip ourselves, be ready, be obedient to God’s word and do our duties. Patiently wait for the coronavirus pandemic to end. We don’t understand why this disaster happened but we know that the Lord gives and the Lord takes away. You will not allow our foot to slip; You are our Protector and You will not slumber. Grant us the ability to love fairness, establish justice, be free from anger, quarrel, doubt, and raise holy hands and pray wherever we are and wherever we go. Let all the nations give praise to the Lord; let all the people give him praise.
