Proverbs 22: 3-6, 9, 12, 24-25

3  The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.

4  Humility is the fear of the LORD; its wages are riches and honor and life.

5  In the paths of the wicked are snares and pitfalls, but those who would preserve their life stay far from them.

6  Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

9  The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.

12  The eyes of the LORD keep watch over knowledge, but he frustrates the words of the unfaithful.

24  Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered,

25  or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared.

Prayer

We thank and praise our Father in heaven. You are our Lord. We trust you with all our hearts. We wake up in the morning, calling on your holy name, seeking your face, taking refuge in your bosom like little children. We want to be your obedient children, holy and pleasing in your sight. Our Lord God Almighty, may your face shine upon us. Only in you we can receive salvation. You have also provided us with all the goodness of life: your guidance, protection, abundant provision, honor, care, brotherly love and many other blessings; thus enabling us to move on after having been stalled by despair.

Lord Jesus of grace and peace; you are the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through you. You unfolded the mysteries of the Old Testament and opened the way of life in the New Testament for us. On the path of the cross, you have placed countless signposts so we will not wander away. Although we have known toil and troubles through our lives, your grace overflowed with abundance; you have given us many beautiful memories of flower-strewn pathways. You also have given us hope with rainbow as a sign: grace for the trials, help from above, unfailing sympathy and undying love. Lord Jesus, thank you for setting us an example of blameless character to follow. You reminded us to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, with all our souls and with all our minds; and to love our neighbors as ourselves. So that we can be trust-worthy, favored by others and pleasing to God. Our lives are blessed because we can rejoice always, pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances.

Holy Spirit, please do not forsake us even for a second but stay by our side. We know that we are all equal before God; we will face disasters, diseases, troubles, sorrow and even death. Especially in themidst of the widespread coronavirus, strengthen our faith so we firmly trust that “in all things God works for the good of those who love him.” Holy Spirit, keep us away from evil; rid us of blasphemy, disputes, and resentment so we will not walk the wicked path of foolishness or even fall into the snare of evil. Help us listen to the truths of wisdom and follow the path of knowledge and righteousness. Help us to be wise, seek God's will in all things and obey His commands. Let us always be grateful and content, be conscientious in serving the needy and rely on God in everything. We will then be assured of God’s grace and blessings.
