Psalm 20: 1-9

1  May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

2  May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.

3  May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings.

4  May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

5  May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.

6  Now this I know: The LORD gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.

7  Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

8  They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.

9  LORD, give victory to the king! Answer us when we call!

Prayer

Almighty God, Heavenly Father, we praise You for Your wondrous deeds. First thing when we awake, we climb the Lord’s mountain through prayer, approach Your throne of grace with reverence and holding on to the promise that You are our strength and defense. You are faithful to Your covenant to Your people that You are the LORD our God, and You will be there to help us wherever we go You will keep us from all harm especially in this day of trouble, You will watch over our lives.

Jesus, giver of life, Lord of Lords, and king of kings. We have nothing to boast about but humbly call upon You to walk with us today. According to the guidance of Your word, let us start compose the day of victory today. In the past months, every page of our lives was deeply scarred from the pandemic, the wounds have not yet healed. Some people place their value and reliance on what they see as power and strategy but believers all over the world knelt down to pray and trust in the power of prayers. They start building prayer altars at places dedicated to God and ask for healing in Your name. God binds up wounds through prayers. Lord, Jesus, You made it possible for us to overcome and walk in victory.

Holy Spirit, open our spiritual eyes that we may see the great power in heaven. Help us to rise up, stand upright and be good soldiers of Christ. Facing the difficulties brought by the pandemic, we move on with life by faith. We know that victory rests with the Lord. We believe victory comes from our knowledge of faith in Jesus and faith comes through prayers. Lead us to lift up the banner of the cross and look forward to the coming of victory and give the glory of victory to God.

We believe the Lord hear and answer our prayer in Jesus’ holy name we pray. Amen.
