Psalm 49:1-5, 20

1  Hear this, all you peoples; listen, all who live in this world,

2  both low and high, rich and poor alike:

3  My mouth will speak words of wisdom; the meditation of my heart will give you understanding.

4  I will turn my ear to a proverb; with the harp I will expound my riddle:

5  Why should I fear when evil days come, when wicked deceivers surround me—

20  People who have wealth but lack understanding are like the beasts that perish.

Prayer

Jehovah, our Heavenly Father, we are thankful that Your glory will be our rear guard. Thank you that You illuminate the earth with the radiance of the sun each morning. From the fullness of Your grace we have all received one blessing after another. You love everyone in the world whether rich or poor and desire all people to be saved because You are not willing for any to perish. Lord, we ask that you break the chains of the ferocious coronavirus that bind us and undo the heavy burdens on our hearts. Let those who are infected with the virus feel the power of Your healing. Help businesses to find ways to meet the challenges of reopening, and give us hope for tomorrow and strength for today.

Lord Jesus, You are interceding on our behalf before the Father and Your sacrifice makes it possible for all sins to be fully forgiven. You pull us out from the procession of the lost sheep heading to the grave and give us an abundant life on earth but advise us not to be materialistic. For what does it benefit someone to gain the whole world and yet lose his life? What can anyone give in exchange for his life? Help us to be obedient to Your word for those who obey God's commands live in union with God and God lives in union with them. Let us start composing hymns of love and joy so we can praise Your name with songs as we walk out of adversity and enter into God’s rest.

Holy Spirit, take control of our hearts for the words we speak reflect what is in our hearts. May we think carefully about our words and actions before we speak and act. Fill our hearts with the truth of Jesus so that we would honor Him with our speech and our conduct. By doing good deeds before the on looking world God gets glory when we Christians preserve in good deeds. We want to show our love for God by obeying His commandments.

We pray that God’s grace and love fill every family during these difficult times.
